New Cheat Sheet: A Custom Wedding Invitation Suite

The parts and pieces of a custom wedding invitation ensemble are shown together with "Upload Your Design" and "D" for digital printing on each card.

Did you know The Occasions Group started as a fine stationery printer? And by fine stationery, we mean mostly wedding invitations. A man named Bill Carlson started the company back in 1948 and called it Carlson Letter Service. The company was very successful. In 1972, Bill Carlson sold the company to his right-hand man, Glen Taylor who changed the name to Carlson Craft. (Learn more about the origin story of The Occasions Group if you’re interested.)

We are an experienced wedding invitation printer

In fact, wedding invitations were the catalyst for starting TOG.ink. Around 10 years ago, we started seeing a lot of freelance wedding invitation designers in need of a trustworthy print partner who could provide the specialty print services that make wedding invitations so special. We have that capability, and so TOG.ink was born in 2018! We offer many different product types so designers of all kinds can create a variety of custom print products, but we still have a soft spot for wedding invitations and weddings still account for our most sought-after products.

A Custom Wedding Invitation Cheat Sheet Is Created

Our cheat sheets are meant to be helpful guides when navigating TOG.ink products. The Wedding Invitation Suite Cheat Sheet is no different. You’ll find three different pages. The first page presents a basic wedding invitation suite, and the second page presents an expanded wedding invitation suite. Expanded simply means your client might want more enclosure cards than just a reception card and a response card.

All three pages of the Wedding Invitation Suite Cheat Sheet are shown next to each other.

What is an enclosure card? An enclosure card refers to any info card that accompanies the wedding invitation. The most common enclosure cards are response cards and reception cards. Many couples also choose to include map/direction cards, accommodation/hotel cards, weekend itinerary cards, etc.

It’s important to remember that custom wedding invitations are as different as the couples requesting them, so please don’t think this cheat sheet is telling you exactly how you have to put a wedding invitation ensemble together. We’re simply offering a framework of products and how they’re often used in terms of weddings. This brings me to the third sheet…

We Offer a Variety of Products for Custom Wedding Invitations and More

What is a wedding invitation suite? You’ll notice we use the word “suite” and “ensemble” interchangeably. Suite is a traditional term referring to all the parts and pieces of a wedding invitation ensemble, including the invitation, invitation envelope, response card, response card envelope and reception card.

Anyways…on the third page of the cheat sheet you’ll find the products our customers order most often for custom wedding invitations and other wedding-related events and celebrations. We’ve grouped them to make it easier for planning purposes and we added a few notes to help explain a few of the products. Again, these are just suggestions! Please explore our product offering for unique wedding invitation options. We highly recommend diving deeper by checking out Classic Pocket Wedding Invitations, Gatefold Pocket Wedding Invitations and Seal and Send Wedding Invitations.

Whatever products you find in your exploration, how to use them is totally up to you. Keep it simple or get creative! We’ve seen some really amazing things come through from all of you, and we want you to keep it coming.
