Some of you may know that TOG.ink is a division of The Occasions Group, which has some serious roots in the print industry. You can learn more About Us or check out the Biz Birthday Bash podcast episode which has all kinds of fun information, including our origin story.

We have been designing and printing wedding stationery for a long time…so sometimes we forget that our vast offering of print services in an a-la-cart format can be a bit overwhelming. So we’ve started creating some wedding-specific Cheat Sheets to help the wedding stationery designers out there navigate the TOG.ink offering and create beautiful custom wedding invitations. Our first Cheat Sheet in the wedding series is…

How to Create a Classic Pocket Wedding Invitation

You may have noticed that we offer a mix of standard card sizes and non-standard card sizes. Those non-standard sizes were created for our own purposes here at The Occasions Group. One of those purposes is to create a beautiful pocket wedding invitation ensemble. In this Cheat Sheet, you will see each card we use within the Classic Pocket and a few helpful tips. Download the Cheat Sheet to keep on hand whether that’s on your device or printed and filed away.

Everything you need for pockets!

Everything you need to create custom pocket wedding invitations is available right here at TOG.ink. You can choose to use just a few of the pieces shown in the cheat sheet for a simply elegant look or you can give your clients the royal treatment with a complete pocket ensemble. Here’s where you’ll find each of the pieces:

Flat Cards

You’ll find printed invitation cards, enclosure cards, and tab cards when you Shop Flat Cards. Click on the size you want and browse the print processes available for each size of card. And don’t be afraid to mix print processes! A foil-stamped tab card is a perfect finish for a digitally printed invitation card wrapped inside a pocket. Browse the selection and see what inspires you.

Paper Goodies

Backer cards and pockets can be found when you Shop Paper Goodies. Take a look at all the different colors available. We especially love the glitter backer cards! And pockets are available in two styles: the classic pocket style is offered in an A7 size, and the gatefold pocket style is offered in A7, A8 and A9 sizes.

Envelopes

You will find a plethora of envelopes available for every size of card on TOG.ink. Shop Envelopes and you’ll find several print processes are available including digital, offset, White Ink and foil stamping. Of course, you can order blank envelopes if you prefer to add address labels or have a calligraphy artist addressing them by hand. Or you might choose to get Variable Print Envelopes to cut down on the time it takes to address wedding invitation envelopes. Once you’ve determined the right envelope, be sure to check out our digitally printed envelope liners so you can finish any ensemble with a splash of color and style.

More tips for wedding stationery designers!

It may sound strange but when you click on A7 Pockets you will find a statement that A7 cards don’t fit inside A7 Pockets. That’s because the pocket itself is A7 size to fit inside A7 envelopes. That means the printed invitation card and backers are sized slightly smaller than A7 to create that gorgeous layered look we all love inside an elegant pocket. That’s where our R-size cards come into play. Also, all pockets come with 6 glue dots each for quick and clean assembly.

As mentioned above, we also offer Gatefold Pockets and Seal ‘n Sends. Come back soon to grab those Cheat Sheets and start creating custom wedding invitations your clients will adore!
