Thermography printing began in the early 1900s as an affordable alternative to engraved stationery. This print process starts with ink on a freshly printed piece being sprinkled with resin and then exposed to heat. When exposed to heat, the resin and ink fuse together raise off the surface of the paper. The raised lettering effect really does look similar to engraving but far more affordable.
Thermography Printing Is Uniquely Beautiful
The subtle sparkle and light texture of raised printing is surprisingly beautiful given how inexpensive this specialty print process is.
