Hot Trend Off the Press: Halloween Cards

Two custom Halloween cards shown side by side with digital printing and foil stamping.

I like to celebrate Halloween all month long, doesn’t everyone? I know I have a few kindred spirits out there who impatiently wait for October 1, and one of you placed an order recently that stopped us in our zombie tracks. When we saw these custom Halloween cards hot off the press, we knew we had to feature Mary Hawkins and her spooky masterpieces.

Mary Hawkins is an animator by trade working mostly in motion graphics but she moonlights as a stationery designer. Perhaps her animation skills bubble over into her stationery designs because these cards have a sense of movement you don’t often see in print.

“Most of the work in my day job is digital ads, which are really ephemeral, so it’s nice to have something I can physically touch and give to people that they enjoy.”

You can see more of Mary’s stationery designs at MaryLikesPostcards.com but let’s take a closer look at this print candy, shall we? These A2 folding cards both feature digital printing and foil stamping on 120 lb, Ultrawhite Superfine Eggshell paper.

A pumpkin stamped in orange foil feature "the most wonderful time of the year" in script font.

A purple card with orange spiderweb and "the most wonderful time of the year" stamped in silver foil.

The copper foil pumpkin absolutely glows in contrast to its black background, drawing all attention to the fantastic choice in wording. On the second card, silver foil wording shines above an orange spiderweb against a purple background, creating a sense of depth and dimension for a downright magical effect.

Thank you so much to Mary Hawkins for trusting us with her custom print Halloween cards. We wish you all a frightfully fun Halloween!
