Title: Designer + Owner of Happy Day Paper Co.
Location:
Works from home in Lafayette, Colorado.
Etsy Shop: Happy Day Paper Co.

Years in Business: I just celebrated 1 year on June 25, 2019!

What’s your story? I designed my own wedding invitations in 2015, while working as a graphic designer for a corporate marketing agency. I fell in love with the process of custom design and all of the pretty things that go along with wedding stationery like beautiful papers, calligraphy, letterpress printing and wax seals. We moved from Florida to Colorado after my daughter was born and I opened up my Etsy shop in 2018. When trying to think of a business name, my daughter was just learning to talk and kept saying “happy day” and “happy day to you” instead of “Happy Birthday,” and I just loved it. I currently offer custom and pre-designed wedding stationery but I am working on a greeting card line and also plan to expand to include shower and party invitations.

Where do you find inspiration? I love finding inspiration when traveling to new places, but even just walking around exploring Boulder or Denver, the nearest cities, is my favorite way to get inspired. Sometimes I’ll see a window display or creative packaging design and get an idea for a project. Also nature, a beautiful sunset over the mountains, fashion, Pinterest…everywhere really!

What are a few of your favorite blogs or podcasts? I listen to so many podcasts! It’s how I fall asleep every night. I love the Biz Bash Podcast, created by two wedding stationers, so their talks are totally relatable to my business. The Creative Well by Katie O. Selvidge is also good! I love browsing wedding blogs like Green Wedding Shoes or Style Me Pretty to get an idea of what wedding styles are trending.

What’s your favorite dessert? Hands down, it is and always has been chocolate chip cookies.

How do you use TOG.ink? Mainly for letterpress and foil stamped wedding stationery, but I’m planning to use them to print greeting cards soon as well!

What do you like most about working with TOG.ink? I love the excellent customer service and how they are always adding new products or print techniques to cater to the market. I’m so excited about the new colored paper options and can’t wait to design a custom wedding suite with it!

Any advice for someone just starting out with TOG.ink? Get the designer’s toolkit! It has samples of all the color options for letterpress and foil and some great design samples as well. Also, explore the site and the Coming Soon tab. They are always adding new options!
