Thinking outside the template? We love that.
At TOG.ink, our online selection is packed with ready-to-print options, but some of the most exciting jobs come through our Custom Quote Form. From layered pieces to unique trim options, we’re here for the pros who love to push creative boundaries.
We uncovered our top 10 custom quote requests:
And here’s what you should know about each before you submit your own…
1. Custom Sizes
We offer a large variety of paper types and colors on TOG.ink, but we don’t offer them in all sizes. Customers frequently request a specific paper in a custom size for their projects. This could mean getting the ecru textured paper in business card size or any of the new paper colors (only offered as A8 currently) in an A7 size.
2. Combining 3 or More Print Processes
Yes, we can do multi-process jobs. You’re not dreaming! Embossing + foil + thermography? We’ve done it. Be sure to give us as much info as possible when submitting your request.
3. Two-Sided Printing
Most of our specialty print processes are only available with 1-sided printing, but we do get a lot of requests for 2-sided thermography printing. This is very common for various wedding stationery pieces.
4. Custom Shapes
From straight edges to custom corners, trims make a significant difference in your design. When it comes to adding that perfect finishing touch, many designers want trim options not listed in our standard offering like unique die cut shapes or laser cut shapes.
5. Blind Embossing
Blind embossing is often confused with blind letterpress (a.k.a. blind debossing), but they create different effects. Embossing raises the surface (vs. pressing it in), and it can add a truly premium feel.
6. Custom Paper Colors
Designers often want specific shades, custom tints, or unique textures that align with their vision. Whether it’s a special color for invitations or envelopes, we’re happy to help you source that perfect paper.
7. Two-Color Foil Stamping
When one metallic isn’t enough, go for two! This is a fun request, and the results are nothing short of stunning. Submit a Custom Quote Form with two PDFs, one for each foil color.
8. Custom Laser Cutting
Laser cutting transforms flat cards into art. Whether it’s a lace-inspired edge or a dramatic reveal, this process adds instant dimension. We even offer free templates on our blog to help you get started.
9. Unconventional Sizes or Folds
Need a long skinny menu? A gatefold card with foil inside and out? We regularly quote projects with unique specs. If you’re not seeing a size or fold you need, we may still be able to help.
10. More Product Types
We have access to more product types than what you see on TOG.ink. Posters and signage are great examples. If you don’t see what you want, there’s a good chance we can create what you’re looking for.
BONUS! No custom quote needed for…
Two-Color Letterpress
Designers love the crisp, tactile quality of letterpress and adding a second ink color adds even more personality. Look for “L+L” indicators in product images or “2-Color Letterpress” in the product name, and be sure to set up two files (one for each ink color).
Foil + Letterpress
Most wholesale printers aren’t able to offer two specialty print processes without a custom request. We offer it at your fingertips on a variety of card sizes. Plus, you can order 24/7 here at TOG.ink!
Two-Color Thermography
Thermography already turns heads, but adding a second ink ups the wow factor. You can do this in the personalizer tool. Simply prepare two PDFs, one for each ink color. There’s an extra charge for 2-color thermography but it’s worth it!
How Do Custom Quotes Work?
The custom quote process is straightforward and designer-friendly:
1. Submit the Custom Quote Form
Fill out the form and send it along with your artwork to the email listed at the bottom of the page. Make sure to research the product we do offer, review our typical required specs, and provide as much detail as possible. Remember to use a separate request form for each item.
2. Receive Your Quote
Our team will review your design and provide a detailed quote, including pricing and estimated turnaround time. (Depending on how complicated the request is, this step could involve some back and forth.)
3. Approve and Create
Once you approve the quote and timeline, we’ll begin the production process, ensuring every detail is perfect.
So, what are you waiting for? Let’s make your next project extraordinary.
