Everybody wants an amazing business card to stand out from the competition and to provide a level of professionalism clients can trust. Today’s user-friendly design technology makes it easy to create a good business card…but an amazing business card? That’s where specialty print comes in. Thermography is known for its raised texture and glossy finish. Here at TOG.ink, we think of it as a beautiful yet affordable print process used often for fine stationery. So just imagine what you can do with thermography business cards!

Why Choose Thermography Business Cards?

Thermography isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about leaving a lasting impression. The raised print adds a tactile element that feels as premium as it looks. And because thermography is inexpensive, it’s an excellent option for professionals who want to enhance their business cards without exceeding their budget.

How to Enhance Business Cards with Raised Printing

Thermography business cards stand out in a stack, and the possibilities for customization are endless. Here are some ideas to make the most of this print method:

  • Create Textural Contrast: Combine thermography with digital printing to create a dynamic, layered look. We see far more Digital+ business cards than just a straight specialty process like thermography.
  • Glow Up Your Logo: A raised, glossy logo instantly adds a touch of luxury and professionalism to your brand. You can even accentuate certain elements of your logo for a more subtle but sophisticated finished product.
  • Highlight Details: Use thermography for your name, job title or company name to make them pop against the card’s design. Imagine your name printed with just a hint of sparkle!
  • Capitalize on Shine: Some thermography ink colors shine more than others. Gold and silver are always good choices if you’re looking for shine. We highly recommend ordering the Designer Tool Kit to see all the ink options printed.
  • Complement Minimalist Designs: Let the raised printing shine by keeping the overall design clean and simple. You’ll be amazed at how much thermo stands out.
  • Create Standout Borders: Raised borders add dimension and give your card a finished, polished appearance. Please, please, please use the business card template (available on the product detail page) when creating your artwork. Borders can be tricky to get right and you don’t want to place them too close to the buffer zone.
  • Create Intriguing Patterns: Patterns can be so beautiful in raised printing. The texture and the sparkle will level up your business cards for sure.

How Our Custom Print Business Cards Work

As you shop our selection of business cards, you’ll notice we offer digital printing AND a few different specialty print options: thermography, foil stamping and letterpress. Most of the digitally printed items you see on TOG.ink are printed front and back. So if you want 2-sided business cards with thermography printing, you will want to choose the Thermography + Digital Business Card. You will have the option to upload a digital layer and a thermography layer on the front, and a digital layer only on the back.

All business cards featuring one specialty print process are printed 1-sided. Therefore, if you choose thermography only, your business card will be printed with thermography on the front and the back will be blank. This can be quite striking, but if you are not a seasoned print designer experienced with specialty processes, we highly recommend testing your design by ordering a minimum quantity. Or you could choose a thermography flat card and put a few different designs on one card to see how they print.

Now that you’ve got all the details, you can start creating those amazing business cards you’ve always wanted!
