Birthdays should be as unique as the individual, right? You may not think of creating custom print invitations for birthdays because that’s simply not what clients and customers are asking for. They’re likely requesting custom wedding invitations and perhaps even custom invitations for galas, grand openings or fundraisers.
Yet as a designer, you would LOVE to create custom birthday party invitations for friends and family! Simply because you do it so well and why not use your talents for the people you care about? Here at TOG.ink, you can! We sell a variety of wholesale cards and folders at low minimum quantities, so you can create whatever you want for whatever occasion you want. I mean, why should weddings and grand openings have all the fun anyway? Birthday celebrations are just as special and personal, and nothing captures the spirit of a birthday party better than a custom print invitation.
A Gem of a Custom Birthday Party Invitation
My daughter loves rocks and gems! So that’s what we chose as her party theme. Of course, a gem-themed birthday party invitation simply has to have shiny, beautiful, glorious foil. So we chose gems in vibrant colors mixed with metallic gold foil gems all on a black background. The back features a white background, which shows off the gems’ colors while also highlighting their details. We put all of it on shimmer paper because every 7-year-old girl should feel free to shine above and beyond on her birthday (and every day).
More Shining Details with Custom Print
The gem pattern is so pretty and eye-catching, it was pretty much impossible not to use it throughout the part on other custom print pieces. Our Favor Boxes can be printed on the outside and the inside. We printed the gem design on the outside and printed the inside with a coordinating pattern that provided some contrast. The favor boxes contained a few gem stones and geodes for guests.
We then used custom satin ribbon to create a custom birthday table runner. You’ll see the gem pattern was used on the 3” Satin Ribbon. We printed a coordinating design on the 1.5” Satin Ribbon. When layered, the contrast became a fun and stylish focal point for the table. We ordered the 2-yard length since we only used it on the main table but you can order 6-yard and 10-yard lengths. It would have been worth ordering extra to use on the birthday gifts OR ordering a roll of wrapping paper with the gem pattern — how cute would that be for future parties!
Finally, I threw in an order of art prints with the gem pattern. I had intended to use the art prints to create a large triangular pennant banner but we ended up cutting out the cute little flag shapes you see above and strung them with a gold cord. They were adorable! Since we had leftover of the patterned paper, I cut out gift tags for the rock sugar suckers we handed out to kids as they left the birthday party.
My daughter loved it and I loved celebrating her brilliant self with a brilliant party theme. The custom print pieces, from the invitations to the favor boxes and ribbons, tied the whole party together in a way that felt personal and meaningful.
Go ahead and create something special for your loved ones. Designing custom print invitations for birthdays may not rake in the money but it will rejuvenate your creative spirit. We all need that from time to time!
