All the feels! Letterpress

A plant with cotton blooms appears next to the words, letterpress feels like soft cotton, the very paper it is impressed upon.

Custom letterpress printing is pure luxury on paper! We offer 1- and 2-color letterpress on both flat cards and folding cards. We provide letterpress envelopes as well so you can create the perfect suite from invitations to enclosures to envelopes.

We use Heidelberg presses to print letterpress pieces. It’s almost hypnotic to watch as our letterpress operators print piece after piece after piece. The Heidelberg uses a metal plate, which is pressed to individual sheets of 100% cotton paper. The heavy impression in thick paper has an almost “pillowy” effect, to quote our Creative Director.

Heidelbergs are legendary in the print industry for their strength, accuracy and ease of operation. Our oldest Heidelberg dates back to the 1940s but it’s still going strong. That’s a testament to both the machine and our amazing team of plant mechanics who work tirelessly on all of our presses day in and day out.

Hi! Can I ask what paper weight this was made on? I noticed that for letterpress only there’s options to choose from up to 220, but digital+letterpress th highest you can choose is 110. Can I ask what the reason behind that is, especially given the fact that you offer digital in double thick paper so I’m not sure why that weight isn’t available when looking at digital and letterpress together? I’m worried it might be too thin:( Please let me know! Thanks

    1. Great question, thank you for asking! I know we only have certain papers approved to run through the digital press. Our double thick stock is white smooth, which runs beautifully on our digital presses. Cotton stock, however, can cause issues, so my guess is thick cotton stock does not do well in the digital presses. That said, you might be able to request it as a custom order. It could be that they can make it work, but the order has to be watched more closely.
