1. What’s one design trend you secretly hope never comes back?
Ohh I would say word art. You know the fancy lettering you could do in Microsoft word. I don’t even know if that’s an option anymore within the software so I think it’s safe to say it won’t come back!

2. Which past client project do you remember to this day?
I have several but I will never forget working with a mother of the bride who was an absolute perfectionist – and as rigorous as it was working with her she made me a better designer to this day realizing those small adjustments make a big impact on the final result.

3. What’s your go-to source of inspiration when you hit a creative block?
Going on a trip. Even if its a day trip but getting out and seeing new places and landscapes always seems to spark new ideas.

4. If you could design stationery for any celebrity, brand, or fictional character, who would it be?
Lisa Frank. That brand created my love for paper goods. If you aren’t familiar with Lisa Frank, look it up 🙂

5. What’s one detail clients notice most in your designs that surprises you?
Our use of type. It’s one of those design elements that may not jump out at you but if it’s done right it really makes it stand out.

6. What’s the weirdest or most unexpected item you’ve ever used as design inspiration?
A taco? lol I loved the color palette I saw in a taco illustration so we used that for a project – and it turned out great lol

7. What originally drew you to TOG.ink?
The capabilities that TOG.ink has. They’re the best printer in the country.

8. What’s kept you designing with TOG.ink over time?
Their quality can’t be matched, along with knowing customer service is just an email away if we need anything at all.

9. Which TOG.ink finish are you currently obsessed with?
Die-cuts

10. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to newer stationery designers trying to find their style?
Your style will become clear the more you keep designing. Keep at it!
