Every year, when the crisp breezes arrive to send colorful leaves to the ground, my mind tends to wander a little further into the future, where visions of holiday cards dance in my head. As a photographer, I\u2019m always dreaming up new and creative ways to show off my cute kids to my family and friends. The fall vibes inspire me to incorporate a little whimsy into it all. This year the inspiration came easy, thanks to the five chickens we added to our family in the spring. I knew they absolutely had to be included in our family photo!<\/p>\n

Chicken Holiday Cards? Yes, Please<\/h2>\n

The kids named each one of our chickens, and these feathered breakfast-makers were as much a part of our family as our two beloved felines. So, on one of the last warm days of the year, before the trees went completely bare, I gathered all the little members of my family into the backyard and captured one of my favorite photos ever.<\/p>\n

Once I had the star-of-the-card main image completed, I enlisted my retired-graphic-designer mom to bring the rest to life. I wanted the photo to take center stage, and I also knew I wanted a couple poultry puns sprinkled in there too. Mom knew exactly what to do and took it from there, creating an egg-stra special and gorgeous card that I was thrilled to send out to everyone I love.
